Took me near all afternoon to figure out
this style holster.
I remember it was named after someone.
"Hank Sloan".....I think many other leather makers
adopted this style holster.

Scott is a fine collector and an enabler. He called me a while ago saying he’d found a Shelton- Payne holster, did I want it ? He bought it and hauled it around for a while until I had a chance to get it. That’s the kind of friend he is.
Your holster’s design pre-dates Hank Sloan’s model by some years, it was cataloged as a Threepersons holster with hammer protector. Hank added a tension screw to the welt but got his idea from Myres I think, not the other way around. Beautiful holster .

Oh man I have been looking high and low for something like that without the strap for desert carry for my 4" k frame.

Howie, it looks GREAT with your Model 19. I think that your photography really brings out the carving as well. The color comes out better too, deep and rich.
