My new to me 32 S&W revolver is in amazing shape, but that appears to be almost the norm for these. The serial number is 34038 guessing 1880. I was surprised that it would not chamber a 32s&W long, seen others on the net that would. lock up is very tight, but it does have a ring scratch around the cylinder.

This gun predated the first S & W revolver chambered in .32 (centerfire) Long, the model of 1896 with the new-fangled swing-out cylinder. Even if bored out this cylinder is too short to chamber the longer round.
