S&W 10-7

I just picked up a S&W 10-7 from a friend and I'd like to know the year of manufacture and an approximate value as I can't find it in any of my books. The serial # is 8D526XX. It has a very faint turn line on the cylinder and is otherwise like new with a six inch barrel and original wood grips. Thanks for your help.

That serial number is from 1981. Value depends on condition and the local market. It could range from $300 to $500 or so in many areas.
