i have a 17-2,17-3 what other dash numbers are there in the model 17?

Wow. I'll bet that gun is stunning in person. Never seen one like it and didn't even know they made a heritage series. Perhaps I should rethink my policy of not looking at the more modern offerings. Here's the question...does she shoot or just pose with those little boxes of pop rocks?

We shoot it. My wife claimed it for a while and it cost me a Woodsman Sport to get it back. I had to change the grips, the factory service style just don't cut it at the range.

That's good stuff right there. The few times I can get my wife to the range she spends 99% of her time with a .22 auto of some variation.

Great photos...the case coloring on your gun is handsome indeed.
 
s&wchad, any idea how many like yours were made? I saw one that looked like yours(no box or doc) at a recent gun show, but it had the LOCK on it. I miss my sport model from 1937 but not the X Wife:) Such is life. Beautiful 17-8. Kyle
 
Model 14,15,16,17,18,48,53 (all start without dash in 1957)
-1 1959 Change to LH extractor rod thread
-2 1961 Cylinder stop changed, hole in front of trigger
guard eliminated
-3 1967 Relocation of rear sight leaf screw
-4 1977 Changed gas ring from yoke to cylinder
