The 9x23 Winchester was unheralded and not promoted that well when it was introduced by Colt and later picked up by Springfield Armory. Maybe it would fly now--I've been tempted to build one with a Caspian frame and slide.

There's a guy named .38-44 HD45 (I think?)
If you start doing searches on his posts in the ammunition section, you'll find quite a fan of that type of round. In the reloading section too.
(I'm joking I just can't remember John's whole handle in the proper order) He'll probably know more about that critter than any three other folks here.
BTW WELCOME!
(EDIT) I found his "proper" handle!
38-44HD45 he has most recently posted about a 9X23 in the Concealed Carry area under the "I have problems with holsters" thread, about his bob tail Aegis 9X23 IIRC?

You rang?

9x23, YES!! Got one right here next to my heart!

The Kimber Aegis is easy to convert to 9x23, if you know a few little tricks. I've done it to all three sizes of Aegis. My only bobtail, however, is a Nighthawk Talon II. If you decide to build one, I think the Aegis is the way to go. I've also converted a Colt XSE Commander from .38 Super to 9x23, and that's an easy conversion, as well. Feel free to e-mail me if you want details on the conversions. There are a couple of things one would not necessarily think of that are very important to reliable function of these little powerhouses. You can also learn lots about the caliber from Dane Burns, who is the Great Guru of 9x23. www.burnscustom.com

9x23 is the best of the mid-bore (35 caliber) auto rounds in my book. S&W could do what Colt did and offer a 1911 with 9x23 and 38 Super Barrels.

I vote for the 9X25 Dillon!

I managed to get a Bar-Sto match grade 9X25 Dillon for my S&W 1006 and it has been neat to have this cartridge to shoot from the 10mm pistol. Something about 90gr @2000fps / 115gr @1800fps / 124gr @1690fps

What is so cool is that the 10mm pistols could shoot 10mm/40S&W/357SIG/9X25 Dillon with only a barrel swap

Dane is great,he is the man on 9x23mm.I have a two from him,his work is flawless.
My last project that he work on was a Kimber Team Match 38 Super that now shoots 9x23mm.
I also have"THE ONE"in 45 ACP that he put together from the ground up on a CMC frame and slide.
