I recently acquired a 7th series model 35. It is in fantastic shape, however I am getting very lite primer strikes and rounds will not go off. I ordered the NRA book on firearms disassembly and took a close look at my pistol. According to the schematic it appears to be missing the mainspring plunger. After inspection and measuring the clearance between the hammer strut and the recess in the backstrap it doesn't appear to have any room for a plunger. I know there were some design changes throughout production, but it makes me wonder if I am missing a part, or if the plunger was eliminated and I just have a worn out hammer spring. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this for me.
