S&w 1st production run

I bought this knife 15 years ago, engraved on blade is ( 1st production run ). About a 21/2 in blade with leather holster.
Can't find any info on it.

All such marked knives are supposedly "Taylor brand " made ones. Whether or not they are really made in the USA has become a lively debate. Read the knife entries on this section of the forum and see for yourself.
