I’m not sure I posted this one I picked up a few years back at a local auction but thought it might help those who are searching for ship date even though many of these sat in the safe for many years.
S&W 32-20 Hand Ejector Model of 1905 Fourth Change 5” barrel, blue finish, and checkered walnut non-monogramed square butt grips. Serial 135198 shipped 6/21/1930.

A nice one.

As you indicated, ship dates are all over the place among these late .32-20 revolvers. Examples:

131452 shipped in April 1930
132446 shipped in August 1927
136670 shipped in June 1927
136682 shipped in May 1927
137511 shipped in December 1926
142578 shipped in September 1929
 
The .32-20 M&P revolvers ceased production around 1929-30 (exact date unknown) but continued to be cataloged and sold until around 1940. Highest SNs are around 144K. Later shipments were either earlier completed guns remaining in factory inventory, and also possibly some assembled from frames, cylinders, and barrels remaining in component inventory.
