S&W 3913LS

The wife said you've got me new jewelry for CHRISTMAS, you find you a gun.
Ok, no argument here…. I browse the big auction sight.
In the 80s my dept sent me to armorers school….then new admin ran me off. Ok….job prospects are good when your , csi, firearms instructer and repairman. Fast forward to retirement in 2013. I returned to roots and accumulated several third gens. Thought I was through.
Found a LS . Called the importer, lady said they bought three crates of BERETTA 92 from Israel. Suprise! Three 3rd gen smits in crate.
Ok ive always wanted one of those grey, anglenose Smiths since I Saw one on ‘DEMOLITION MAN ‘
My low bid took. LS arrives. WOW.
Never been shot. I took it down to frame. Two flea bites on frame from shelf ware. Barrel as shiny as when Smith employee slid it into slide.
Gonna take several boxes to loosen it up a bit. Ill post pics as this quick reply wont let me.
Comments and questions welcome.

I started looking at a Lady Smith. My preference is for the 3913 frame.

I believe you will be very happy with a 3953. I don't have one but am getting by with a 3954. Let us know what you think when you get it.

I’m hoping that the snow deluge that hit us the week before Christmas doesn’t stop me from getting out. I’m going to familiarize myself with it for a couple of weeks before posting. I want to give an honest assessment.

Too often I have purchased a new handgun that felt great in the hands but after getting it home, I often find something that I don’t like or that I didn’t think to ask. My Kahr K9 had great ergonomics but was a PITA to disassemble. Particularly with the hand issues I have had in the past. My current CCW weapon, a CZ 75D PCR purchased in June, feels great in the hand overall but the trigger reach is just a tad long for my hands. So much so that I would get unintended double taps when target shooting. Not good in a self defense situation. And the narrow slide was difficult for me to grasp with my hands. The Glock 43X that I purchased was good, but my trigger finger would drag the inside of the trigger guard. Very annoying! We don’t often get to fondle a weapon long enough in the store before purchasing.

I suspect that I will be very pleased with the 3953. I don’t want to make a rush judgement but give a non-emotional assessment of the pistol.

Here she is. It arrived this afternoon. I haven’t picked it up yet. These are the pictures sent to me by the seller.

I have to agree on your choice of a 391x/395x over the CSX. I have both and the CSX has never been fired - just doesn't feel right to me and I hate the SAO feature. Maybe its my prejudice as I have 3rd generation pistols in every caliber both TDA and DAO, but the 391x TDA and 395x DAO hit the sweet spot for many of us.

ACEd, purely out of curiosity, why did you get a CSX if it didn’t feel right, and why do you still have it? No judgement, just truly curious.

Bought based on size, round count, reputation, & reviews. But I have CS9, CS40, 3913, 6906, and PPKS among others I prefer. Still like round count, but will eventually get around to selling it and my Walther CCP (bought for wife) with less than a box of 50 thru it. Hate to lose 20% consignment fee at local dealer. PM if interested.

Hogue grips and Clinger Holster arrived today. The Hogue grips give the perfect amount of width as well as a slight curvature over the stock grips. I’m set to declare this the perfect concealed carry combination (for me).

Congrats on the new arrival! I noticed it has the MIM trigger and hammer. I think that's a good thing as they are a bit smoother than the flash chromed IMHO. I have both and the MIM is better in mine. I know some frown on the MIM but I prefer them.

I'm not a fan of the Hogue grips on this gun but many like them. Looking forward to your further comments.
