Looking for help on pricing a 1993 S&W 3914 9mm for sale. Used, shot it twice, then cleaned and packed away in it's original box until now. Two (2) clips, manual and box included. In excellent condition. No wear. Box label says: Features: 85H-FS-AA-SB. Product Code: 102914. It's my understanding this is a Series 1 Edition and is an aluminum alloy construction. Thanks in advance for everyone's thoughts on this!

This is the standard production gun with alloy frame...that's what the AA (aluminum alloy) is referring to in the features.

As for value? LNIB may bring anywhere between $400 and $650 depending on location and finding the right buyer. Local sale would be less than an auction site. I think around the $500 mark is fair but that's JMHO.

I go along with this. An "as-new-in-original-box" 3914 is pretty darn rare around here (MA) and prices are up generally on non-cop trade-in 3rd Gens. The original factory box adds value too on top of the already excellent condition and two original factory magazines. In a private sale, I'd go $500 on that. I know of some shops that would ask at least $599 on that gun and possibly more. At $400, I would get my wallet out so fast that I might hurt myself. :D

Nice....... most folks would prefer a 3913 or NL ....... but a basic 3914 is a sweet gun.........your package $400-450....... maybe a $100 more but that would take awhile and the right buyer...................

I bought a 3914 last year in slightly lesser condition (not quite ANIB), with box, two mags, papers, holster - south central PA - $325. It was not a steal, but I was pleased with the price.
Oh, I'd call that a "steal" for sure if it is really as good as you have described it. :) Pennsylvania seems to be the "great price on used guns" capital of the world. :D

Or the "Home of the BS sale" stories, huh?

I can attest, though. My 3914LS (w/4 mags, no box) was $300 OTD a few years ago. It was probably 85%, but still a steal in my mind.

Not as good as the mint 39-2 (box, papers, tools) for $300 at the same store!

S&W autos are under-appreciated in these parts, and if you're patient, you can find some decent deals. It would help if everyone on this site would close their traps and quit telling everyone how great they are!

Over the last 20 years both 3rd Gen Smiths and Beretta autos..... have IMO been sold and traded "cheap" in W. Pa.

I've bought several 3913NLs and 3914 and 6906/04s for $300 or less sometimes with 3 or 4 magazines..... just too cheap to leave on the shelf. I got a "spare" 3914 anib/ used....IIRC with 3 magazines for $250 ...... granted it was 10-12 years ago.

Even gotten Milt Sparks holsters for 3913/6906s for $25.

This is truly "Steeler/Glock" country...ever since the Pittsburgh Police went to Glocks.....in the early 90s.
Plastic fantastic now includes a fair number of S&Ws ....... land of "it's too heavy" or "not enough bullets!"

Just paid $600 for my 3914LS in identical condition a couple weeks ago. Then again, I am in CA, and quality used guns tend to be more expensive here than practically anywhere else, due to our oppressive gun laws.

Nice Score....................
The 3914 LS/NLs are pretty uncommon ........ I might go $600 on an NL.... but in all likelihood wouldn't have to here in W Pa.

18DAI should be along again to point you in the right direction, as he has helped make the market on GB for these in recent months by his recommendation to his shooter students. ;):)

Pretty good numbers already here, though, and I suspect you might have had an email or two inquiring about a sale. I'm just not a 9mm guy, otherwise I'd have sent one myself! :D

These are cool guns, and the TSW version is even cooler!

Easy and quick $500 sale, locally. Maybe a little more with the right buyer. 3914s dont seem to bring as much as the 3913s do for some reason.

As my friend vigil617 mentioned, if you have any trouble selling it PM me. Wont take me long to find a buyer for it. ;) Good luck! Regards 18DAI

I think 18 is spot on this one....I just sold a very clean early 3913 with 2 mags locally for $550....It hung around AL for a couple weeks with lukewarm response and within an hour of each other I had two hot buyers...all the inquiries I had before the last 2 wanted to know if it included the original box.. for S&W and Colt buyers the box is definitely a big plus;)

Even back in the day the 3913 "stainless" was the gun...... I think you and I are on the same page ...... I like the looks of the 'blue" 3914.... and will carry one in cooler weather ............. Oct to May.

I concur with the $500 target price.

My 3914 is the only black 3rd Gen I have.

For me it just adds to it's "uniqueness". :)

You got to put a pair of Hogue checkered wood grips on those 3914s to really get the full effect......... of a chopped 39...... add a little wear on the high spots and you've got a true classic....... and a great single stack concealed carry!!!!

Wish I could post pictures.....but I'm still under my "house rule" about no pictures on the internet.......... "teenagers; can't live with them and..... you can't live without them! ".... but some days I'd sure like to try!!! :D

LOL 'the Burgh" is having drinking water issues...... yesterday the freshman at Pitt/ living in a Dorm w/ a meal plan........... wanted me to have Amazon ship him a couple cases of bottled water...
