I use my pistol for Range and SHTF possibilities. Just wondering what's the big difference and does it really matter which one of these ammo's I use? I currently found some good deals on 165 grain, but I usually shoot 180. Let me know what ya'll think. Thanks

If it's reliable in your weapon and hits where you want it to then IMHO it doesn't matter.

+1
180's for me but nothing against others either. IIRC, the 180 and 155 were the originals back when the 40S&W was introduced and I just stayed with it. The performance comparison back then was the 180HP .40 cal. compared to the 185HP in . 45ACP.
I know some that prefer 165.

100% function first, followed by accuracy for you in your gun. Having a reliable expanding bullet for defense purposes is also important. Good luck.

165's shoot to a different point of aim than the 180's in my 40's but once you get that figured out it's no problem.

I shoot the 165's out of my G22 and G23, accurate..
My KT sub 2k seems to like the 180 and due to the 16 inch bbl, it really packs a wallop upon impact..
