S&W 4006 Holster

A few weeks back, i traded for a 4006 (the one with the rounded trigger guard and the 'big sights' (i.e. the well protected rear sight and high front sight)). Anyways, on line the other day, I saw a SERPA holster advertised as fitting the 59xx/40xx series. Well, it came and guess what? They lied. There is no way to get my 4006 in there. So I am back to Square 1, needing to find a holster.

Has anyone had experience with the Uncle Mike's Paddle (#18) in regards to a 'big sight' 4006? If that doesn't work, is there another polymer/kydex holster out there that someone could recommend? Any recommendations that are IDPA approved? I would appreciate any feedback that you could leave, before I order another holster that won't fit the gun.

I've become really fond of the Safariland Model 568 paddle holster, and it's IDPA approved. I have one for my 945, 4006, 4506 and 4516, and it fit each one to a tee.

Gunhacker, thanks for the recommendation! Like Njanear I was disappointed by the Blackhawk's lack of fit for the 4006. I've got a good old High Noon belt slide holster I originally had made for a 4506 (why, oh why did I ever sell that pistol!!!???) that fits the 4006 just fine, but I was looking for something more 'open top'. I may just give the Safariland a try.

Thanks for the info, Gunhacker. That may be the direction I need to go in. I did catch myself looking at them right before I ordered but decided to go with the SERPA due to the retention. If only I knew then what I know now...

I have also used Glock 22 holsters for my 4006. Should work for youas well.
