I bought mine used (about 15 y/o with 7 3/8" barrel), and don't know how much it's been fired, so planning to change out the recoil spring. Looking at Wolff website, the offerings are the 3 spring set (6, 6.6, and 7 lb.) or the standard 7.5 lb.
I only shoot CCI SV and it has been suggested to go with the standard spring. The pistol shoots perfectly now, but not sure of round count, and want to be on the safe side for a few dollars.
Opinions are welcome.

If its behaving the way you'd expect for extraction/ejection leave it alone.
If you must, buy a standard spring and put it away for now.
Don't mess with a good thing!

I had problems with my used 41 last year. The first attempt by S&W to correct the problem(s), was to send me a recoil spring...free. (It didn't correct the problems).
It seems that the 41 is their flagship SA pistol. When I told them about the problems with my "used" pistol, they still sent me the spring for free. So, if it starts to act up again, try giving them a call. You never know...

Model 41 recoil Spring

I use CCi Std velocity, purchased the wolf spring kit. Installed the
7# did not enable the slide to fully cycle. next was the 6.5# and
functions correctly. Vintage 1970 41

I would also suggest you are due a good cleaning and a new spring by now.
