I just ordered a new S&W 460XVR 10.5 barrel revolver.
A person I saw at the range had one and I must say it is a really nice gun.

I have 1 question: I know it can shoot 460S&W, 454 Casull, .45 Long Colt with no issues…

But can you load in .45 Schofield into it for target practice.
With the ammo shortage I have noticed at times I can get .45 Schofield while .45 Colt is out of stock.
Also if it can shoot .45 Schofield why doesn't it say so on the spec sheet?

I do know the .45 Schofield rim diameter is .001 inches wider than a .45 Colt and am not sure if that is insignificant or not?
I also know .45 Colt revolvers all will shoot .45 Schofield.

Yes you can, just make sure you clean the cylinder thoroughly after shooting any of the shorter cartridges before shooting the big boys. Oh. always practice "Gun Control". Notice the grips on mine.

I shoot a Scofield rounds when I first started shooting 460.
I found some had rims that were to thick to allow the cylinder to close, the same with the AR 45 rounds.

That said you should consider reloading and forgoing shooting any of the shorter cases. Accuracy suffers the shorter the cartridge is.

You should consider reloading if you really want to achieve the potential your gun is capable of, even if you just want to shoot 45 colt equivalent energy rounds or velocity.

Good luck and be safe.

^^^This. The .460 is really a handloaders gun. You will find that downloading .460 cases works much better than the shorter cartridges. After 4 or 5 legitimate .460 loadings, I use those cases for downloading.

I noticed harder extraction of the cases but that make perfect sense to me now. I always started with the small shells and worked up to the 460 mags! You learn lots going through these threads!!!!! Awesome!
It is hard enough to find the 460 ammo in Calgary let alone the Scofield stuff! When the gun show comes I am buying all the 460 I can find!
