S&W 586 Nickel finish with 6" barrel

I've heard that this is a fairly rare gun, is this correct? Appreciate any help.

Not rare, but less common then a blued version. Unfired guns are rare. If you find a good complete w/box example for sale, buy it!

This! I have a similar gun with a 4" barrel that I have trouble getting info on. All I ever hear is "that isnt original" nobody seems to have info.

They are nice looking. Mine seems to get pulled out of its sock and ogled often. (Shoots nice too)
