S&W 629-5 Classic 6.5"

I came across one of these and the price seemed right so i snapped it up. I have always wanted an S&W .44 mag

Now I have buyer's remorse and second thoughts and wondering how much it might actually be worth?

There's a couple of recent threads that talk about the value of 629's. One is a 629-2 and the guy paid $500 for it and everyone says he got a steal. A -5 should probably be worth more because they handle bigger loads.

I've seen those on GunsAmerica in the $700 to $800 range. If it's something you wanted, the price paid is small compared to the pleasure of having it.

In my opinion you got a very good deal. I recently paid almost that much for a 5-1/2" Redhawk in 44 mag. Had a 629 years ago, but had to sell it to take care of family needs. Perhaps I'll own another in the future. Enjoy your find!

I think $600 was a fair price. I only say this because of the porting. Some people like it, but I believe the majority do not, especially people who prefer to shoot lead. You should be able to re-sell at that $600 price without a problem.

Are those PowerPorted? I picked up a 629-4 Classic PowerPort a couple of years ago for $450. It's the sweetest shooting .44 I've ever shot. They're great!

any possibility of selling it was destroyed as soon as I picked it up.
