S&W 651-1 Information

I have a S&W 651-1 s/n:CBT91xx. It has a 2in
barrel and a round butt. I also has an adj
front site. I would like to know when it was manufactured. I read there was an early period of manufacturing and again later on. what have
I got?

Yours is the later version. The first run of these was in the early 90's and had a serial number prefix of LHSxxxx. Lot's of folks thought that meant Lew Horton Special, except these were distributed through RSR......
