S&W 681

I picked it up last night. It seems pretty tight for a cop gun. It is a 681 no dash low serial #25**. Probably won’t get to shoot it until this weekend, weather permitting which doesn’t look good at this point in time. I shoot outside at a buddy’s, I haven’t been to an indoor range in over 35 years.
The only thing wrong with it that I can see is the ejector rod, the knurling is buggered up a little on the one side. If I was able to find one cheap I would buy it and replace it but not a big deal to me. It’s not a collector gun. If anyone has one that would fit let me know. Or would a new one ordered from S&W work? I can’t imagine there’s any differences.

Nice gun, good price.

681

I would pay $700 for another 681. Front sight is correct. Everyone thinks the sight has been modified until familiar with the 681. Be aware that some of these like my pictured Con Rail(on the left)are .38 Special, not .357 Magnum.

My new-to-me 681 to go with my 686. I picked it up today and immediately cleaned it up and replaced the rubber grips (which were Siles, not UM) with a set of target grips.

I have a 681 no dash from 1983. Picked it up in a pawn shop years ago for a measly $280! One of my favorite guns and is my SHTF 'go to' gun if needed.
