Just picked up a 6906 from CDNN today. Nice but dirty as expected, so did a breakdown and cleaning.

I noticed at the very forward end of the frame where the slide rides (dust cover?) the edges looked a bit chewed up or gouged. I'm thinking a little filing, deburring, sanding, polishing should take care of it, but has anyone else had this problem with a 6906? The slide looks fine, no marks or wear at all.

Hope to get it out to the range soon. This is my first 9mm; I'm a .45 ACP kind of guy. Just couldn't pass this little pistol up.

Nope. I hadn't seen that on my 6906 or others. I wonder if it just got bumped around or maybe dropped when the slide was off??? Sounds kind of weird but it shouldn't affect how it shoots. Just how it looks.

I think you should be quite happy with the 6906. It's a great little gun with a decent magazine capacity for a compact. Just be careful about your deburring and sanding because the frame is anodized and if you take too much off you'll be down to the bare aluminum and it may have adverse effects on the rest of the finish on the frame.

I once had a 6906 police trade-in that was purchased sight unseen. When it arrived it was mechanically in excellent condition but the anodizing on the frame was pretty worn. A local gunsmith bead blasted the slide, barrel and controls which returned them to like new and then he also re anodized the frame. When it was done, it looked like a brand new 6906. Don't know if you would be interested in doing the same (if it needs it).
