S&W Blue Box Question

Was given a S&W .38 CHIEF'S SPECIAL MODEL 36 box. I am curious as to when it would date? The S/N on the end of the box is 447446. I have two different J Frames that will fit in the box, but I am curious as to the dating on it. printed in the lid is a "STATEMENT OF LIBILITY" and a WARRANTY Card. both are dated April 15, 1955. Best guesses? TIA
