S&W started marketing their own line of ammunition back in the early 70's. Their line included .22 rimfire; centerfire handgun in .25ACP, .32 Auto, .380, 9mm, 38Spl, 357Mag, 44Mag & 45ACP; centerfire rifle in .243, .270, 30-30, .308 & .30-06; and shotgun shells.
S&W also introduced the nylon coated Nyclad ammunition.
The .22 rimfire was available in blanks (indoor & outdoor), .22 Short (standard & high velocity) and .22LR (standard & high velocity). This ammunition was made by Aguila of Mexico with nickel plated cases.
Fiocchi of Italy was the primary provider of loaded ammunition for S&W.
