Somewhat of a new guy here - here's the deal: First - I know "zilch" about S&W guns - My brother recently bought what I believe he calls a "Smith & Wesson Clark Custom Combat 357 mag" - I've done a little research on the Internet, and found the company, but there's really not much in the way of info about this particular gun.... I was hoping someone here might know something about this kind of gun - are they considered to be collectible guns - any idea of the value, or what a gun like this sells for (I think he bought it from a friend, and have no clue what he paid for it) - He brought it over a few weeks back for some target practice out in my back yard... it's definitely a handful of gun....hopefully, these pictures will show up..

It looks like it was made for PPC, it is a very special gun, and Clark was certainly one of the top "name" gunsmiths producing these. That said, I can remember when there was a rule of thumb that no custom handgun of that sort was worth over $700 no matter how much money was in it, and it may have taken a while to sell at that price. However, that was a few years ago, I am not up to date on such things, and things change. With any luck, folks more knowledgeable than I will chime in and give more up-to-date information.

Hawk, that is an older model ,or someone wanted a light weight PPC type gun, they just had it built on a 357 instead of a 38 K frame, some thought that settled the bullet more and made them more accurate, but when shooting wadcutters it made it difficult to clean. From what I can see it looks like an older Bomar rib that make me think the gun is older,no big deal ,as long as it shoots well, barrel should be fine as long as only lead wadcutters were shot through it,(Ive got 2-300000,through one of mine and it still shoots good) and the lockworks /timing is good it worth what someone will pay for it.Most PPC shooters wouldnt want it because of the rib and lighter barrel, unless as a cheaper starter gun .For others you may get 500-600 or more out of it.Clark builds a good gun ,it will be fun to shoot, I wouldnt put magnums through it as some ppc guns have the topstrap thinned to put the rib on ,or have a smith check it out and let you know .good luck Bob
