Don't know if this is the proper forum for this question---But-What do you all consider the most desired and collectible of the more modern S&W revolvers? I'm really looking at the pre-lock era.

The original 627pc bloodwork would be towards the top of the list

Fixed sight 629 with 3-inch (or maybe 4-inch?) barrel. Very few of these.

I would also look at the rarely seen 631 in .32 H&R Magnum. Barely 5000 made in total, and four different varieties within that range. Probably the rarest is the round butt adjustable sight Kit Gun with a four inch barrel. According to SCSW, about 40 were made in 1998. If you ever seen one of those, just buy it without question.

i don't do collectibles but fyi they are slowly removing the locks from there guns . starting already with there 642.

Here is a picture of the 631 mentioned.

the 631 or the 331 in 32 h&r magnum 2 inch is the bees knees. This 4 inch 631 I bought was from a forum member who had one post and just ONE S&W revolver.

For me any S&W revolver I don't have is one I want -- and in some cases more than one of each

I like building compete sets:

I don't know about the most desired and collectible but I suspect the PC 66-4 Super K would be up there. I know it's the one newer model I most want.

3" Model 29 or 629-1 and my model 625-4 SAC are 3 models that come to my mind...Just my opinion. Their prices are going thru the roof.

Works for me! Of course that's because I have one...and an original dual cylinder Bloodwork...All mine are limited run PC guns, fun to shoot AND collect...

Great pictures and collection. I did not realize the 686 was available in a half lugged version!!

Not P&R guns, but no IL's either.....
