Will the factory do a parkerized finish on a blued revolver? For a working gun the parked finish works well for me.

Parkerizing is not a factory finish for hand guns and is not offered to my knowledge. When in doubt, check their website, e-mail or call.

Bluing just doesn't hold up for me, combination of the heat and how much I sweat.

The steel guns feel smoother to me than the SS guns, else I'd just go all SS. One of my revolvers came with a parked finish from the factory, and it has held up great for me, none of my blued guns do as well.

Mahovsky's Metalife will give you a finish you can't ever sweat off and it will not cost an arm and a leg. Price is comparable to any parkerizing I have come across.

If the light color doesn't bother you, hard chrome is probably the way to go.

To me, park's main virtue is that tends to retain oils & lubricants. It's not an extremely hard or durable finish.

I'm a big fan of Walter Birdsong's Black-T finish. It's the stuff they put on the FBI's Springfield 1911s. You'll pay about $180 including return shipping. I had my 642 done and I love it. Nice, matte black finish, won't corrode, and dirt/grime doesn't stick to it. Much better option than parkerizing IMHO.
