Hi All,
New here. My new FPC 9mm make a pinging sound when I shoot it. Is this normal?
Thanks Hickey

Like an AR15 pings or is it more of a ching . ching with standard springs ? Then yes .

I guess you could call it a cling (ping). Gun works great and die on at 25 yards (1.5 inch group with red dot sights).
It has a standard spring and plug. Is there a way to help stop it or do you just live with it? Read there about a longer plug but do not know if at will help or not.

Thanks Hickey

There no info on the recoil spring like found on an AR . I'm running a tubb flat wire spring in our AR's and the difference in felt recoil and sound is noticeable different but the FPC is so new you may have to live with it for a while .

You might even contact - David Tubb Accuracy and Precision Gun Parts and ask about developing a spring for the FPC .

For ARs a cheap solution for the 'pinging' is to coat your spring & buffer tube in grease, either a gun grease like TW-25b or synthetic wheel bearing grease.
Padding the outside of the buffer tube would be the only other option but you'd have to allow for the travel of the charge handle. There's self adhesive sound deadening materials like those used in automotive stereo installation, Brown Bread is one of them. But the results wouldn't be pretty.

I’ve never had an AR go “ping.” I’ve had a bunch that have gone “sproinggg.” A braided wire AK style spring takes care of that. I have not noticed any unusual sounds from my FPC.
