I would not purchase ProMag products as I have found their quality to be lacking and reliable functionality to be questionable.
With that being said.....if you had to use ProMag, I would limit them to the range! I would NOT bet my life on them. Additionally, the ProMag's are within only a couple dollars of the real McCoy.
 
Midway still has genuine S&W M&P 40 15 round magazines in stock for only a few dollars more than ProMag. I don't have any experience with ProMag, so I'm not knocking them, but I would prefer to spend a few dollars more for the genuine article.
 
ProMag anything is not a good plan - unless you want lots of malfunciton clearance drills.

While they may work for a while, they simply do not hold up.

Remember the rule: Buy only factory mags or from MecGar for most pistols. The exceptions are MDS (Beretta), Metalform (Colt, Ruger 1911s), Wilson (1911), McCormick Power Mags (1911), and ACT Mags (Novak, RIA and S&W's 1911s - and ACT Mags get somewhat mixed reviews).
