Hi all. First time user. 85 years old with CMT (Charcot Marie Tooth) peripheral neuropathy. Debilitating disease has weakened my arms and hands to the point that I can no longer rack my slide. Does anyone know of anything that can make the slide work easier. Also, will the magazines for the EZ S&W work in my S&W M&P 9 shield? Thank you.

The Shield line has always been difficult/stiff to rack. It's the nature of small self defense pistols.
If you just need somethng for the range, the Handi-Racker sstems work well.

Welcome to the Forum! Sorry to hear about your medical issues, but that comes with age...as I'm finding out! I recently purchased a Talon slide grip for my PC Shield Plus 9mm. It was relatively inexpensive and easy to install. It provides very good non-slip grip for racking the slide. Just another option for you to consider.

I'm also sorry to hear about your condition - I'm turning 79 next month and understand your loss of strength in the hands.
To answer your question about the EZ mags, no they will not fit a 9 Shield or 9 Shield Plus, they are unique to the EZ.
I don't know if you've looked at the S&W Equalizer? It's a 9mm with easy rack technology like the EZ's. The Equalizer uses the same mags (10, 13 and 15 round) as the 9 Shield Plus models. Here's a pic.
