Why does the Model 10 Classic cost $829.00?? I like the round butt and by many accounts the new revolvers are very good. Don’t like the lock and the price. You can buy new J Frames without the lock for around $500. Wish the new K Frames were less expensive.

I have bought many guns pre owned. RARELY had any issues. Older 10's can be found reasonably. This 1 was $329 shipped. Not the prettiest thing but functions great. I have had other 10's and 64's. All been good. Good luck on your hunt! Bob

S&W Model 10 Classic??

As for the Model 10, one like @JamesK with the tapered barrel is not only a classic, but also a visual treat.

As long as we're talking Model 10s, which I love and sadly only have two presently, what do you suppose the market is for this "classic" M10 .357 Magnum?

Search around for used stuff. They have been on the market now for a while. I bought this one from a kid whose dad had given it to him but the had just finished college and wanted to pursue other endeavors and was liquidating a bunch of stuff, under $300 including some ammo at the time when they were around $600 in showrooms.

That figures, a dad thinks he is helping his son. His son just wants cash. BTDT

I own a couple of 1926/1927 all original mint condition pre model 10. No box or papers I think I paid around $600/$800 one was a 4" and one was a 6". That purchase was this year. My thought is go with a older model and it will only grow in value.
