I picked up a S&W 15-4 today. 4" bbl. Nickel .38 Serial # 20K96xx. I would like to get as much info as possible on this revolver. Including value. Looks to be about 95+ %. Any and all info appreciated.

A 95% nickel M-15 with S&W grips would go for about $400 around here.
Pictures might help........

Working on the picture. Don't quite understand how to at this point. Seems they have changed something and have not been able to do pictures.

Upload your photos to photobucket.com. Then left click on the bottom line of your photo on photobucket, then right click on "copy". Then go to the forum and left click on where you want to post the picture, right click and press "paste" and the [img] line will appear. When you confirm your post the picture will magically appear.
It's not as complicated as it sounds.

:) Looking forward to those pictures. A model 15 is a nice gun.
I use Photo Bucket also and it works good. Don

back in Feb. I bought a pinned 15-4 snubby in nickle. I shot it a few times and figured it was just two nice to shoot. I paid way to much, but the gun was mint. A week or so later, I found anouther 15-4 snubby (not pinned) also in nickle. Some of the nickle was flaking off the cylinder, otherwise it was as nearly new. I paid $300 for the 2nd one. It shoots just as good as the first one. At 15 ft, I can shoot off the staples which hold the target to the backer board. It likes 158gr swc's, so it's cheap to shoot.

I couldn't stand those little wooden grips on the square butt frame, so I put on some rubber hogues. I bought some rat shot and now use it as a packing gun against rattle snakes. It sure is lighter than my 625 mountain gun.

Congrats on the aquisition of the Model 15. Hard to find a more versatile and sweeter shooter in all of S&W lore.
I have non pinned dash 4, although a lot of dash 4's are.

Sounds like a nice find to me. I have two blued M-15-3's, would like to find a nickeled one. Definitly post some pic's!

Here is model 15 that was carelessly stored and had pits on both sides of the cylinder but is an excellent shooter. I bought it cheap due to the pits.

Nice 15's. I don't know how good a deal I got on mine, but it was good for me. I find it hard to believe it was every fired. I paid $450 for mine. Never had a Nickel frame S&W. I love it and it feels great and shoots much better than I have the talent for.
