S&W Model 17-4

I'm new to this forum and have just received a almost like new S&W Model 17 with the serial number of 93K39XX and would like to know the approximate year of manufacture. Many thanks to anyone who can help with this.

Just FYI: pics are usually required.
I'd say 1981.

Thanks for the information. It does have a pinned barrel. I thought that it may have been produced sometime during the late 70's. Here are a few pictures.

Nice looking revolver. Stocks appear correct also.
The -4 came about 1977 and lost the barrel pin about 1982. It continued until 1988 when the -5 was introduced.
