Bought my first one (used), & in the box was a Recoil Spacer. Unclear what it is for?

It is probably a spare. Field strip your 22a and you will see where it goes. If there isn't one behind recoil spring in the slide then look in the manual for it's proper location. Hope you like the gun...I sure like mine!
