S&W model 27-9

Hello need some help on what was the engineering change on the dash nine and what year it was produced . Found one in in excellent condition for a decent price. I can find information on the -8 but not the -9.

Hello good evening what was the engineering change for 27–9? What was it made? My dad gave me one just trying to see what information I can find on Dash nine thanks.
