Greetings:

I've been thinking of getting a Model 38 for some time now, and came across a Model 38 (no dash) with a stainless steel cylinder in a local shop. As I dimly recall, they were made in the factory for a company called Michigan Police Equipment for sale/issue to the MI State Police. Anybody know anything about these Model 38s? Approx. price would also be appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

Dave don't know much more than what you have already. I saw one recently asking price of 475, which in my opinion was too high.

Use the search feature at the top for Michigan Police supply and several older threads will pop up. Good luck!

My post on the thread referenced above tells what I know about the guns.
I had a chance to buy a second one at Jay's in Gaylord, MI but passed because it had more wear than the one I already had.

Gentlemen:

Thank you all for your replies. Model 38s are hard to come by in this area. I could always buy a new 438 or 638, but I don't like the lock. The trade-off is that the newer revolvers have the +P capability. Or, I could go and revisit the LGS and really study their Michigan Police Supply Model 38 and bring it home. At $330.00 + tax ($27.00), I think the price is a little on the high side. Decisions, decisions.

Again, many thanks for your replies and input.

Best regards,

Dave
