I have a set of new looking N Target Diamond grips I am going to sell but need to identify. They have gold medallions. They have the standard screw and also two pins holding the grips together. Are these from the performance center?

They sound like they may possibly be Altamonts with the 2 locater pins on the inside
of the grips..I've owned a few with the pins that
were Altamonts..

I checked Altamont, but they do not make a grip identical to the S&W early diamond pattern.

There are other aftermarket grip makers ..some from Thailand..that produce diamond target grips w pins..I believe S&W, in recent yrs, have used aftermarket grips since they stopped producing their own yrs ago..
Do they have the metal black or silver washers
on their backsides indicative of factory S&W
production? S&W did use some washerless
stocks in the later 80s 90s time frame but none w locater pins that I know of..

Locator pins are kind of unique to Altamont. They did make some grips for S&W that were supplied on guns.

Do they look like either of these (photos swiped off web)?

No, can't post pictures here. They have gold medallions, and are actually the nicest grips for a S&W I have ever seen. That's why I thought they might have been on performance center or custom shop guns.

There are many after market grip makers some appear to be good quality too. Checkout amazon and ebay. The amazon grips are under $100.

The Target grips on my new 19-9 are said to be made by Altamont, and Altamont told me that they are not identical to any of the Altamont grips they sell as separate items. Apparently they are a specific design that S&W wanted.
They have two locator pins.
