I found this today at an area gun shop. It cost me $2000 It's only the 2nd 945 I've ever seen in the wild, in the past 13 years. The first one was several years ago, seen in a WA state LGS. It was the black 3.5-barrel version priced at $1600. I passed because of the guns poor condition. There is one like my new acquisition currently listed on GB starting at $1799.99 but I would have to be the only bidder and after fees, taxes, shipping, and FFL transfer I'd be at 2K anyways. Now I have one without the extra effort and wait time.

That’s great you got that 945-1. I know you’re going to really appreciate it. I also like that it doesn’t have a billboard.

It took me years to decide if I wanted one and then researching which one I might want. It then took more years to find the one I was looking for, (first run LEW 945,) high condition with everything for a “low” price.

So does that mean the 6” PPC9 isn’t an option now?

Jim

I gave it a try today. I shot it alongside of a favorite Dan Wesson Vigil 45 Commander and my Doug Koenig 38 Super. I ended up leaving the range with a really big smile on my face. I also really enjoyed the way the 945 felt in my hand and the way it absorbed the recoil with such ease.

4T5GUY, The PPC is still in play for me. I am going to see if I can get funds together since I spent my on-hand cash on the 945. If it doesn't work out, I will let you know.

Very Nice Pistol! If you ever need some Magazine Tubes I have 5 or 6 brand new ones that Numrich Gun Parts shipped to me the wrong ones when I ordered 645/4506 Tubes but since I had them in the box for like 3 months waiting for the followers, base plates and locking plate by the time I realized they were the wrong ones it was too late to send them. back. PM me if you are interested. Smith really did a nice job with the 945 Magazines because they are not 1911 nor SW645/4506 something in the middle and when I compared them to my SIG P220 and Ruger P90 I could not believe that those tubes could not be used for anything else and like you said 945 pistols are EXTREMELY Rare!
I was able to find one of my Unicorns last year the SW PC4006 Comp because I really like shooting 40sw ever since I found the Comp I have been looking for the Tactical with the 5 inch BarSto barrel and Briley Barrel Bushing but I have not seen one in the wild so far.

I've had several 945's over the years , they are just all around great 45's . Actually I shoot mine better than my 845's , which most won't agree with . The DK 38 Super is another PC gem , I chased one for years until I got one at a decent price .

Same here. 945 has much better grip IMHO.

Are the mag tubes still available?
