If it is defective, S&W should replace it free, but you will have to send the whole gun to them. They don't sell barrel's to us minions. I have also seen a couple for sale on ebay but they went for over $250 each.
It's not defective, I have the S&W M&P 9 mm ported barrel and just wanted a second 3.1 inch non ported barrel to use as a spare. The M&P folks indicated the non-ported barrel can be used but don't try the ported barrel without the ported slide .Is ebay the only site you know to find one. Appreciate your help.
S&W stopped selling the Shield barrels to ANYONE (not to armorers, retailers, LGSs, owners... Anyone) back in 2013.
A couple of the 3rd Party Barrel makers have said they're considering making barrels for the Shield, but they've been saying that since 2012, and nobody's actually done it.
So... as mentioned... unless you find a Pre-Owned barrel on eBay, BunBroker, or someplace like that, you're out of luck.
