I have these two knives that I found interesting because I collect pocket knives that have these same kind of stainless stippled handles. These two are marked Smith and Wesson, even though a hawk bill utility knife and a sailors rope knife have nothing to do with guns.

Does anybody know anything about these knives?

Were there any other knives marked S&W that had these same stainless handles?

Taylor Cutlery is the licensee that makes most of the S&W knives. They furnish S&W with a batch of different knives and S&W selects which ones to put in their knife catalog. The left overs are then sold by Taylor which results in a bunch of knives on Ebay, etc. and at gun and knife shows that are not "official" S&W knives, but carry the S&W markings. I would not be surprised to see other Taylor knives with the stippled steel scales. So, your two knives may or may not be "official" S&W authorize knives, depending on whether you can find them listed in a S&W knife catalog. S&W sells a lot of items that are not firearms, or related to firearms, including knives. Take a look at their Accessory Catalogs - everything from soup to nuts ! Ed.
