This one sold today at a local auction that the wife and I go to every once in a while. It's usually antiques but once or twice a year he'll sell guns. He runs a great auction. I won a M&P 32-20 there a couple of years ago. Being broke on gun money, I didn't bother going today but it was on Proxibid too. It sold to an online bidder for $1000 plus 18% internet fee plus shipping. In person you only pay a 10% fee. So hopefully someone here got it. Looks like it'll be a good shooter. So, thoughts on how good of a deal it was? Serial is 13615

Wouldn't have been too bad a deal w/o the fees.

In first post you stated it sold.

Appears to be all original including the finish. If mechanically sound, a good shooter grade TL.

Yes, it sold earlier today. The serial appears to be 13615. Thought that might be of some interest to some.

It is wearing my favorite style service stocks. Looks to be all original and pretty good shape. If I were there with a grand in my pocket I would be a bidder on it. Not that many out there and to come across one in original condition would be worth a look. I just wish I had a friend that owned one so I could shoot it. Just like that old saying the only thing better than owning a boat is having a friend that owns a boat you can use!

I would have gladly bought it for that money. And then been here bragging about it shortly afterwords

I was one of the bidders...well, one of the pre-bidders. I was expecting $1100-$1200 before the commission and was not watching it live.

Yesterday must have been the day for local gun auctions. I was at one also, and very surprisingly I found prices going in the more reasonable range. This one was also on Proxibid with a 17% premium and local bidders paid no premium but did pay a $15 FFL transfer fee. Model 36 brought $275, S&W "E" Series 1911 with box etc $650 (I bought that). A 1969 Colt Gov't mod bullseye gun $950, 29-3 NIB 3T's 725, a Pre-29 4" 3T's 98% $1550, a 14-3 95% box etc 6" $650, 17-3 LNIB $800, 17-4 8" LNIB 675, 17-4 6" 750, 28-2 95+% (but rear sight blade filed on) $575, 66-1 box etc 625, 36 Nickle in box 475, 36 Blue 90% 350, Mod 63 95% (no box) 600, 1969 Colt Woodsman (beautiful) 875.

There were about 200 guns and a dozen ATV's as well as some WW2 German and Jap souvenirs. He has 3 gun auctions a year.
