I sent in a Model 610 on Thursday, 6/11/09 figuring that it would probably get to the factory on Monday 6/15/09 the following week.

I received a notice that the factory had received the arm on Tuesday 6/16/09 and would let me know what was wrong and that the time frame would be about 6 to 8 weeks for the repair.

Well I got it back today, 6/25/09......just two weeks to the day after my shipping, with a notice that they had repaired the issue and all is well. NO CHARGE! NO SHIPPING FEES!

That's what I call great service and turn around time!

S&W service and warranty ROCKS!

that six to eight week turn around time reflects the worst case senario. at times the PC guys from the repair shop are used on the assembly line when it gets busy.

Turn around time for my 686 SSR was 17 days including shipping both ways. The repairs included replaced bushing and firing pin, replaced hammer and trigger, crowned the barrel.

Awesome customer support in my book.

I sent the 610 in because it was piercing primers, even though my load for the rounds was rather light.

There were others on this forum that had the same issues with their 610's as well. I did not see anywhere that S&W had a warranty issue or recall so I called them and described the problem.

They immediately issued a shipping slip for the look see and ultimate repair.

Replaced the hammer and bushing. I will not be able to give it a go until at least next weekend though.

No charge!

S&W still ROCKS!
