Hi folks,

OK, not to sound too entreprenurial but I have to throw in my wish for S&W to produce semi autos with a warning device that tells you when your magazine is empty prior to the gun being empty. You get a tactical advantage if you have a last round indicator on a weapon. I am just presenting the idea to see what people think. Check out the thread under Smith and Wesson auto pistols. Any commentary is welcome and appreciated!

well the way I took care of this problem was that I heard that majority of tactical units, in training were taught to 'count rounds' so to speak so when the last round was in chamber the could pop in a new mag, so if while reloading they still could shoot and they would always be loaded to the teeth, thus I train the same way, not with any agency or branch just think it's a good policy

In all that confusion you just might forget to start counting the rounds. How about the clip falls out when the last round is chambered? Or the second round ? There would be a switch on the side like the safety.set your preference when you want to reload.

I count rounds too, but those who have had someone shooting back at them will tell you Dirty Harry's little speech about not being absolutely sure if you fired 'X' amount of rounds or not is closer to the truth when TSHTF. ;)

that is why you make it second nature just like you do with aiming and taking off the safety etc. but I really don't know how they would incorporate one, but it is a really good idea though

Or,
Train yourself to swap out the magazine at a break in the festivities, keeping the partial then as the back up for the possible resumption of the frivolity?

I prefer a feminine voice, sort of sultry, something like, "you're close to finishing!" :)

Well, you said "any commentary."

I'm a round counter, that's why I only shoot J frame revolvers.

I shoot the gun with one hand and count fingers on the other one.:o
