Good Morning Friends and Neighbors!,

A beautiful 65°, with a light breeze in the Heart of Dixie this morning. A welcome relief from the Summer heat and humidity. Maybe it will be this way in the morning since I have an appointment with the weed trimmer and lawn mower.

It was a busy week for us, but not as bad as the week before. All kinds of crazy things happening, and a couple of good things.

I hope and pray that everyone is doing well, I saw where Lee Barner has escaped confinement from his local hospital and is recovering at home. That's always good news.

My 90 year old Sister spent most of the week in the hospital, from last Sunday until Friday. They thought it was her gall bladder, but I'm not sure of the final decision. We couldn't visit her because of the covid mess.

Speaking of covid, the church congregation were all exposed to it last Sunday also. The Pastor and his family have it, now they have decided to get the shots. No service today or next Sunday.

Our Daughter has recovered and is back at work, thank the Lord.

My twice found knife:

Back in the day, when I was about 12-15 years old, I traded a good stockman type knife for a cheap Camco 521, two blade knife. For some reason, that's lost in the past, my Mother took the knife and put it away. Then after she passed I found it while going through one of her boxes. Then on Easter weekend in 2020, I lost it again. The MBH spent the weekend in the hospital and I thought I lost it there.

Thursday, I was preparing for our bi-weekly jam session, and operating the vacuum cleaner. :-(
I had moved my recliner back to clean around it, and as I approached it, I saw the knife on the carpet. I had looked in the chair for it more than once, but it had escaped me. It made my day to find it. Sometimes just simple things can brighten my outlook.

So, I hope you and your family has a positive outlook on your situation. If you are feeling sorry for yourself, just go down to the local Mall and people watch. There are lots of folks out there that are really in bad shape.

Ya'll have a blessed week, and hug somebody and tell them you love them.

Enough!

Leon

Good Sabbath Leon,

Exodus 13:21 And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

The fantastic cool morning temps reminds me of that verse on our morning walks. It has been a hot summer indeed!

Yesterday, MLW (my lovely wife) and I loaded up the car and was about to head to Alabama for my (youngest) granddaughter's birthday. They called and said it was postponed until next weekend as daddy and son are sick with a sinus infection. We are praying it's not COVID and waiting to hear back on the tests.

MLW was heartbroken with disappointment. I said "Look at the bright side, we could have been halfway there before they called!" Of course that didn't help.

So, Quigley and I hopped in the truck and hurried over to our gun club's 50 yard rimfire bench match. We made it but I didn't shoot too well. I think I was to able to finish 5th. Not terrible for being in a rush to get my act together.

Very early this morning, there was a hot air balloon over the duck pond. Look close.

Praying for those suffering from the aftermath of Ida.

Good morning, all. It's been a busy week but all is well. My aunt and uncle got through having their sump pump stop during the heavy rains and some of my cousins came up to clean up the water that came in their house. I had to haul a few buckets full of water out but at least the bucket was enough to catch most of the water that came in my house.

Yesterday was a fun time as one of my Penn State Alumni chapters got together for a game party at a restaurant down in Maryland. Last season we didn't have any game parties at all so it was a lot of fun to get together to cheer on the Nittany Lions. I made sure to leave my server a nice stack of Golden Dollars and a $2 bill because I'm sure the staff had a rough time over the last 18 months.

Everyone enjoy the day.

The wife and I always appreciate your posts, as they never fail to boost ourspirits. Not that we are down, but spreading joy is never wasted talent. Thanks again, and will await your next installment.

A blessed Sunday to all. Will be mid 80s today. Wonderful, will take a bunch of tomatoes to my Dad, he turned 93 in July. He really likes the big ones, so you need only 1 slice on a sandwich. Can't buy store tomatoes in the winter. Too spoiled on my organics. Just go without.

Sorry I missed your post yesterday Leon. Better late than never I guess?
Busy garden season here yet, and that keeps me extra busy.
Glad you found your lost knife again...
Stay safe and healthy.
We were blessed with 5 lbs of yellow plumbs....they are in 12 jam jars now.

I have a small praise to report. Some of you remember the bad auto accident my eldest daughter Lindsey was in on May 14th. She has been in a hard leg cast until today. Her foot is misshapen but with time and therapy it may regain its original form. She took her first steps with an orthopedic shoe today. They were painful but that pain will subside as she uses it.

The surgeon said she was initially dangerously close to being permanently impaired. She has been cooped up for all this time and looks forward to mobility.

Besides us, folks on this forum have prayed for her recovery and we are seeing the fruits of those prayers and well wishes. Thank you all.

Praise be!

Great news Rusty, I'm so glad Lindsey is doing well. Still praying for her.

Have a blessed day,

Leon
