I agree about cousin Trace's "Arlington" (he's a distant cousin who doesn't know I'm alive). It hits hard.

I wish Cash hadn't recorded "Hurt". It's not just sad, it's profoundly depressing to an old fan like me.

Johnny Carson once asked Mac Davis what was the saddest song he had ever sung. He answered, "I'm Drinkin' Christmas Dinner All Alone". I thought it was really funny until I found myself doing exactly that.

George Jones....The perfect country voice.......Will never be better, will never be duplicated. No show Jones...But when he did you were in for a treat.......

''The 8th of November'', by Big and Rich.

I can't copy it on here, maybe someone else can.
My eyes are too runny.

I'm old enough to get a discount at most places; Hurt is one of the best videos ever, in any genre.

The song was written by a 30-31 year old Trent Reznor for his band, and was about depression and maybe addiction.

Big John took it and made it his own 6 years after it was written.

While I love it, I don't hear "He stopped" the same as ya'll.

The man's finally out of his misery, ain't he?

That'll likely be my only release too...

I know there are a boatload more, but I can't think of them.

Sad if you consider the words but I love the old Lefty Frizzell tune. Gone, gone, gone.
Another is George Jones's "The King is Gone".
I pulled the head off Elvis, filled Fred up to his pelvis
Ya ba dab ado, the King is gone and so are you.
