Look what Santa brought - a brace of 627 8-shots, one for me and one for my wife... :D

... actually, they are guns that I have owned for a while now. More than a year ago, I purchased the darker Altamont "Faux-pers" (faux Ropers), but just before Christmas, I purchased the "blond" olive wood Faux-pers. They really are beautiful wood and in my opinion are a great modern complement to a modern gun. Anyway, Santa typically raids the safe to set out something for me (if I have been good). My wife also must have been good, as he sat one of the two out for her. Surprisingly, for a woman who has only ever fired one gun (amazing that she tolerates my gun collecting "hobby") she said "is this one that I could shoot? ... and if so, I want the one with the lighter grips." It made me smile. :D

Let's see what Santa brought you?

Merry Christmas Week,

Merry Christmas Week,

One "for the wife." Who are you trying to fool here? 😆

I love my 627s. Start her out with 38 target loads, and she'll be hooked. That's all I ever shoot in mine, anyway. The grips are beautiful and really compliment the guns. It looks like a Happy New Year is headed your way!

Those are pretty nice. I do like the lighter shade of the two, but I wouldn't say no to either if I were purchasing one. Thanks for sharing. I got one gun related gift, and the company that sent it just slapped our address on it and mailed it out. Anyone could see it from the street, so that kinda ticked me off a little as it advertised that I have guns in the house. I think most of my neighbors know me, but it's the strangers that turn up this dead end street that could possibly figure it out. We've never had any issues other than a couple vehicle break-ins up here. Yet.

Merry Christmas Week,

No wonder why I did not get any gun! You got one of mine! Bob

Merry Christmas Week,

I posted this one after I picked it up, but the photos weren't good.
You just don't see many bright blue 5-screw Chiefs.

We had a nice overcast day a few days ago so I got some updated
images, plus a few stocking stuffers I received since I got the
new Chiefs Special.

The Joe Blackford bird's-eye maple stocks came on the gun when
I bought it.

Ben Alexander played Sgt. Joe Friday's partner -- Officer Frank Smith --
on the 1952 - 1959 episodes of "Dragnet."

Thanks to TLFlag for the nice smooth presentations stocks
(Goncalo Alves, I think -- would be happy to know what they
are if not GA). Still holding out for original smooth rosewoods.
