I saw this in the "used gun" case, at my LGS the other day. A Sarsilmaz 2000, 9mm in stainless steel. None of us could figure out how to pronounce the name...Sar-Sil-Maz I suppose. Apparently they're better know in this country as SAR. It was priced to get my attention, and they were willing to knock off a few bucks to make me think I was getting over on them. Came with two 17 round mags, but no box or papers and such.

The only thing I knew about Sarsilmaz, was they were are a Turkish manufacturer. I had used some of their 9mm ammo back during the shortage. The ammo shot fine, but was somewhat dirty by our standards. I didn't even know they made guns, but it seems reasonable to think they would.

A more or less clone of the CZ-75 B, it's a conventional DA/SA, with no decocker. You can either carry it cocked and locked, or you can lower the hammer manually, something I have no problem doing.

It's a big, somewhat heavy gun, being all steel except for the black rubber grips. The reach to the DA trigger is almost too long for me, but doable. No idea what the DA pull is, but the SA is about 5.5 pounds on my scale, with a fairly nice break and quick reset. Sights are fixed, conventional 3 dot type. And like every "CZ" I've ever handled, the grip feels fantastic in my hand.

I took it to the range Friday, but naturally, about the time I got ready to shoot, work called with a job for me going out of town. Still I managed to finish off the box of ammo I was shooting, so I put about 50 rounds through it. Being a big heavy gun it was easy to keep on target, and I was able to shoot a really nice ragged hole in the red "heart" 10 zone on the target I was shooting (only 7 yards). No malfunctions although I admit that 50 rounds isn't much of a test.

They also had small pistol primers...now THAT was a surprise.

I think you will be pleased with your SAR. Several years ago I bought a SAR 6. I have shot several thousand rounds through it and was impressed enough that this past summer I bought a SAR K-12. Both of these pistols are well made, reliable and accurate as any other of my 9mm’s. I think they are a good value, both of mine will take Mec Gar CZ75 mag’s, which is a plus as i already had a bucket full of those.

I have a SAR2000, it's a very nice gun. I have quite a few SAR guns, including A K26 P, CM9 Gen2, and a K2 45. The CM9 is my "house gun" with a center mass laser on it. It's one of only a few polymer guns I actually like. I got it shipped, with 2 mags about 5 years ago for $250! Mine is all black, like this one:

I just traded a Sarsilmaz 686 clone for a real 686+ a few months ago. The Turk gun was a six shooter, action was a bit gritty, gun was fairly heavy due to having a forged frame/cylinder/barrel. But that soaked up most of the recoil, and the thing was deadly accurate and reliable. I know a lot of people have problems with Turkish guns, but I never did .
