I saw this in the "used gun" case, at my LGS the other day. A Sarsilmaz 2000, 9mm in stainless steel. None of us could figure out how to pronounce the name...Sar-Sil-Maz I suppose. Apparently they're better know in this country as SAR. It was priced to get my attention, and they were willing to knock off a few bucks to make me think I was getting over on them. Came with two 17 round mags, but no box or papers and such.
The only thing I knew about Sarsilmaz, was they were are a Turkish manufacturer. I had used some of their 9mm ammo back during the shortage. The ammo shot fine, but was somewhat dirty by our standards. I didn't even know they made guns, but it seems reasonable to think they would.
A more or less clone of the CZ-75 B, it's a conventional DA/SA, with no decocker. You can either carry it cocked and locked, or you can lower the hammer manually, something I have no problem doing.
It's a big, somewhat heavy gun, being all steel except for the black rubber grips. The reach to the DA trigger is almost too long for me, but doable. No idea what the DA pull is, but the SA is about 5.5 pounds on my scale, with a fairly nice break and quick reset. Sights are fixed, conventional 3 dot type. And like every "CZ" I've ever handled, the grip feels fantastic in my hand.
I took it to the range Friday, but naturally, about the time I got ready to shoot, work called with a job for me going out of town. Still I managed to finish off the box of ammo I was shooting, so I put about 50 rounds through it. Being a big heavy gun it was easy to keep on target, and I was able to shoot a really nice ragged hole in the red "heart" 10 zone on the target I was shooting (only 7 yards). No malfunctions although I admit that 50 rounds isn't much of a test.
They also had small pistol primers...now THAT was a surprise.
