I don’t know much about non-diamond center magna grips. I have this pair with the blued stock circles and the serial number 765861 stamped on the inside of the right panel. Looks like walnut to me. What timeframe would they be from, and approximate value? When was the switch to silver/stainless stock circles? Thanks for any information.

I do not have my reference book handy, but these appear to be from a Target sighted K frame from the mid-late 1960s. These were walnut.
Yes, those were used on blued/nickel K frames with adjustable sights (except for the 2" Model 15's) from around 1966 until 1973.

I don't know when K-frames made the switch. J-frames used that
style stock in 1968, maybe but not confirmed bleeding over into
1969.

The photo shows the progression from diamond to no diamond in
1968, and then the new shorter, narrower checking pattern
beginning in 1969. The last pattern continued into the early '90s.

I’m guessing y’all determined that information by the serial number? If so, I have a lot to memorize, because I wouldn’t have known what that number was assigned to. How did y’all determine the adjustable sight part?

The squared off bottom edges of the stocks. Rounded edges would have indicated modified or “PC” Magnas, and at that serial number a different letter prefix to the SN (C or D?)

Edit to add - "K" 765861 would have been on a gun made in 1967.

Thanks, l have a lot to learn. Luckily, I enjoy it.

After a while you start to notice things and your brain goes:
The lack of diamond center indicates they came after 1966, the blue washer inside hints pre 75 ish.
The stainless escutcheon hints pre 1969,
They didn't stamp the letter prefix,
K serial target sight guns were in that range in that time frame,
non target sight C serials are reported as 1966-67 C 810533 - C 999999.
If that's true 1965 would be too early for it to be a "C" prefix so likely a K target sight gun.
If member post known serials within a few digits of that number as a certain model you can assume it's likely the same but thats not a garuntee.
My closest is
Model 15-2 , four inch, serial K 766460     Shipped Nov 1967  .
