Even though not asked, I will give some unsolicited advice. Been a collector of antique knife for 50 years so I have some experience. Don't touch it or spiff it up. In my youth, every antique knife I got, I felt needed to be brought back to new condition. I ruined hundreds, literally. What you hold, and the condition it is in, IS your Mammy. Enjoy the bumps and nick and think of her when you do occasionally use it. Lastly, write a short history of your Mammy and the knife and store them together. So often memories fade with time and things get changed and completely forgotten for the next generation and future owners.
