Who has had luck with after market flip open scope covers?

I have a Vortex Crossfire 3-9x40 scope on my m&p 15-22 and looking for flip up covers to replace the bungee covers that come with it. Getting the right size seems like a puzzle buying these online. I ordered the Butler Creek size 20 (eyepiece) and 25 (objective) based on advice from Midway. The covers seem very flimsy and the eyepiece cover will not fit over the focus ring. The flip lever on the eyepiece seems like it would break easily.
Looks like I will try the Vortex covers, but which size? If anyone has this scope and has flip covers that fit well please let me know. I don't mind spending more than $20 if I know they are quality and will fit.
Thanks

I have never had any real luck with them. Getting a good fit is always a hit or miss deal for me. I use the one-piece rubber kind with cups at each end and rubber connecting straps.

I HAVE HAD GOOD LUCK WITH THE FLIP UP BUTLER CREEK COVERS. VERY TACTICOOL. THE SIMPLICITY AND RUGGED RELIABILITY OF 2 CUPS CONNECTED WITH RUBBER STRAPS IS WELL WORTH CONSIDERING. I HAVE BOTH...

Just bought a Leupold vx-1 3x-9x to put on a Remington 700 SPS-T and have been looking at the pop up covers made by Leupold but they are very pricey.

Just call or email Vortex and ask them which Butler Creek covers you should use. They are very easy to talk to and their customer service is excellent.

I had the flip up covers but was out in a field shooting gophers, when I got home I realized I lost the front cover.
My fault but from now on I use the factory scope covers.

Thanks. I got the size recommendation from Midway and they assured me it would work with the focus ring. I think the best bet is to call vortex and stick to their product.
