Scope mount height?

Forgot to mention in my last post.

I am thinking of replacing the Aimpoint on my MP 15 Sport, that has the standard A2 front sight, with either a Burris MTAC 1X4 or a Vortex Viper 1X4. Eyes are not as good as they used to be and I am in need of some magnification.

Question is, what type of scope mount would work best with above mentioned scopes on my rifle. I am trying to keep the cost in the $100 range for the mounts. Also what height mount and would a two, or three inch cantilever provide me with the proper eye relief for those scopes?

I would use a mount that is made for an AR, like the Burris PEPR, or the Nikon M-223 mount. Those will give you the proper height and are within your budget.
