Scope Recommendations

Will the standard A2 front sight be visible when I mount the Vortex (0 - 6x)? I've seen a few posts saying that it shouldn't be just wanted confirmation for anyone that has this or a similar set-up. If I need to remove the A2 sight, I'd like to know now before mounting the new scope.

Thanks,
Luxy

At 4x or higher it will not be visible, but you will notice it at lower settings.

Vortex:
I live not far from the factory and just went there this week. I'm impressed with their quality and commitment.

One thing to remember is not only are they a top tier manufacturer, they have an unlimited warranty. You can drop the scope from your roof, burn it in a fire, sink in in a swamp, and they will replace it. I'm getting a 4-16 Diamondback with a military discount for $265. Ask for the discount!

I'm putting it on my 6.5 Grendel.

I paid $129 for my Nikon P223 earlier this year (Academy Sports site) and have not been disappointed. Had to buy mounts for it, settled for CCOP High Profile AR mount (one piece) and have had no issues with it.

I ONLY BUY AMERICAN...

Not because I'm patriotic, it's cuz I can't afford zeiss/swarovsky/Lieca etc. All but 1 scope are Leupold. A big favorite is the VXlll 1.5 x 5 with a heavy duplex. Dropping down a peg to Leup's VXll series & a 2x7ish power range might get you close to your budget. The VXlll 1.5 x 5 would look/fit best IMO, from a bench the VXlll 2.5 x 8 wouldn't fit/look bad & probly work better. (for the range) I'm NOT a grand champion target shooter & can hit grapefruits @ 300 with a good rest & my 1.5 x 5. USA USA. :)
