the 3-9x40 is a $150 retai scope, so from that distributor you're basically paying the other $70 for the mounting system. Im sure it works but, i'm sure you could also find cheaper ring systems. OpticsPlanet has just about every scope imaginable and you could probably find some nice matching ring mounts too. I prefer the two rings only not the whole mounting plate, so thats where my recommendation comes from- but you may prefer the whole thing and to each their own. Sorry I don't know specifically which rings would work with this scope, but try redfield forums or other discussions to see what most people are using with them. Unfortunately not enough people around here go for the full out rifle scope, mostly the tacticool stuff, but i'd like to hear from anyone here that has one.
